Safeguarding

Code of Conduct

Standards of behaviour for staff, mentors, volunteers, and partners.

Every mentor, volunteer, staff member, partner, and leader representing Olasiva agrees to: put young people first; treat everyone with dignity and respect; build safe and healthy relationships with appropriate professional boundaries; listen and encourage without judgment; be a positive role model; protect confidentiality; report concerns immediately; promote inclusion and belonging; work as one community with parents and fellow mentors; and continue learning.

Anyone representing Olasiva must never: abuse, neglect, exploit, or harm a young person in any way; humiliate, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate; form inappropriate relationships with young people; use alcohol or drugs while responsible for young people; share inappropriate content or messages; ignore or fail to report safeguarding concerns; or misuse their position of trust for personal benefit.

Together, we uphold the values of UTU and our promise that no young person should journey alone.
