Safeguarding

Every Young Person Deserves a Safe Place to Grow

At Olasiva, safeguarding is more than a policy -- it is our commitment to creating safe, respectful, and guided spaces where every young person is protected, heard, valued, and supported to thrive.

At Olasiva, the safety, dignity, and well-being of every young person are at the heart of everything we do. Safeguarding is not only a policy for us -- it is a shared responsibility. Every decision we make begins with one question: is this in the best interest of the young person?

How We Prepare Our Mentors and Staff

Every mentor, volunteer, staff member, and leader receives safeguarding training before working with young people -- covering recognising signs of harm, listening to young people, responding to concerns, professional boundaries, and ethics & accountability. Training is refreshed regularly through workshops, case discussions, and peer learning.

Raise a concern

If Something Doesn't Feel Right, Speak Up

If you witness, suspect, or receive information about behaviour that could place a young person at risk, please report it immediately. Every concern is taken seriously, treated with respect, and handled confidentially. If you are in doubt, it is always better to report your concern.

You can report anonymously if you prefer. Reports are only shared with those who need to know in order to protect the young person.
