Every mentor, volunteer, staff member, and leader receives safeguarding training before working with young people, covering: understanding safeguarding principles; recognising signs of harm; listening to young people with empathy; responding to concerns promptly and confidentially; professional boundaries; creating safe & guided spaces; and ethics & accountability.
Safeguarding is not a one-time training session -- our mentors, volunteers, and staff continue to learn through refresher training, workshops and seminars, practical case discussions, reflection and peer learning, programme reviews, and updates on emerging safeguarding issues.
